The Loch Ness Hogmanay Festival Committee was born on the 3rd of January 2003 when 5 ladies met for lunch. It was unanimously agreed by the ladies that Drumnadrochit was not awake at the festive time and had no appeal to retain tourists.

They were all local business women who decided that if they wanted something done about this then why should they depend on someone else. They formed The Committee!

After various meetings it was decided that a street party was the way forward. This soon grew to be a “Monster”… It became a festival. After much persuasion local business decided to open and put on entertainment of some kind for locals and visitors

Everyone was to be welcome to come along to Loch Ness and join in the festivities, with hotels, restaurants and pubs all open and waiting to welcome you to the Highland Festival.
